What Kind Of People Should You Be Around: 4 Tips To Change Your Life
What kind of people you are with affects your life a lot. It affects the topics you think about and even the ways you react to things.
Why this happens is because when you make a new friend, you try to find similarities. Now, sometimes there are similarities, sometimes there are not.
So, you try to fit in by acting like them. And slowly you adapt to it, and you always act like that --even when you're not with them--
Now, if you are attached to the right person, then it's good. But, most of the time, you are attached to the wrong person, and that is where we need precaution. You want to keep your distance from them.
So that's why today's topic is an interesting one!
What kind of people should you include in your life?
1. People who motivate you:
It is always a good idea to be with someone who motivates you. Whether they are a professional or don’t know anything about that topic, just hearing the “Good Job” or “You Did Great” can motivate you.
2. People from whom you learn a lot from:
There are people who want to learn and teach. They’ll always come up to you when you learn something new, and want to learn it too. They will also want to teach you things that they know.
So it's a good idea to hang out with these people, if you want to learn something new from time-to-time.
What kind of people should you avoid in your life?
1. People who bring their problems to you, but don't follow the advice you give them:
People who bring their problems to you, but don't follow the advice you give them, will come to you and cry about their problems. But when you give them advice they will not follow it. And then come back to you again, cry, and then leave.
These people will bring negativity in your life, which can distract you from your goals.
2. People who bring negativity in your life:
Again, avoid people who bring negativity. These people don’t know how to solve their problems. All they are going to do is, tell you about their problems, make you feel bad about them, and make you do their work.
And because of them you’ll also start being negative, which can distract you from your goals.
Final Thoughts:
Your performance is affected by the people you spend the most time with.
So it's always a good idea to recheck to make sure you're in the right circle. “Better safe than sorry!” right?
Remember the biggest challenge you're going to face during this, is admitting the fact that you are not in the right circle.
I mean who would? You're so comfortable with them, you are attached to them and you trust them. But believe me, it’s way bigger than that.
