Small Town vs Big City Living: Which One To Choose?
What are the things to consider before making the decision?
1. Infrastructure:
We all know that the best infrastructures are found in big cities. It's not really something to argue about.
If you're in your late 50s or early 60’s you will be thinking the same thing again and again: “I don't need a network connection or electricity to live a good life”.
That is true to some limits. But think about it. Would you rather spend all your day playing golf or watching the animals or talking to your family members and friends?
2. Education and Job Opportunities:
Even though you don’t need to work anymore, think about your kids or grandkids.
The best education system and job opportunities are found in big cities. Would you risk your family's career just for your short-time-peace?
The reason I’m saying short-time-peace is because, after a while, you'll get bored of it and It's hard to switch from small towns to big cities, so there is no turning back.
3. Healthcare Facilities:
The late ’50s or early ’60s is a critical period of your life. At this time, you need many healthcare facilities, that are not the best in small towns.
And we definitely cannot take risks. And at least you know what you are consuming in the big cities is hygienic, you don’t even know that in small towns.
4. Pollution Control:
One of the major facts that might be holding you back from living in a big city is pollution. I agree pollution is bad.
But what I don’t agree with, is that there is no pollution in small towns. There might not be that much pollution right now in small towns, but there will be in 5 years.
Both the small town and the big cities have to go through the same changes and remember It's hard to switch from small towns to big cities, so there is no turning back.
5. Recreational Facilities:
It’s no secret that the best recreational facilities are in big cities.
There are book fairs, shows, movie theatres, shopping malls, the list goes on, and with the growing economy, there is so much still left to come!
You get so many options for recreation rather than just playing a sport and living with animals.
6. Connectivity:
It will be so hard for a relative to get to you if you live in a small town, because of a lack of transportation.
The case would switch completely if you live in a big city. There are so many ways of transportation there, it would be easier for both you and your relatives.
Conclusion:
After summarising these points. I have come to a conclusion:
you can live wherever you want in your 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and even early 50’s. But after that, you might want to switch to big cities and if possible with your kids.
This is a critical period of your life and you don't want to take risks.
Stay in the safest places and safest people who are full of facilities!
